Human beings are the dominant race in the known galaxy. They were almost destroyed by The Ruin, but have survived and are now flourishing again. The exact origins of humanity, their original homeworld, has been lost to time.
There are two sexes, male and female, and typically range in height from about five to seven feet tall with males usually being slightly larger and bulkier than females, although less aerodynamic.
Humans have kept essentially the same basic shape since they first evolved; four limbed, bipedal and mostly hairless. Although in some of the more extreme environments they inhabit now some new variations have occurred, such as the so called ‘spider-men’ who are sometimes found living on ancient space stations and low gravity worlds and have replaced their legs with an extra set of arms.
It is thought that in the Gold Age science and medicine allowed humans to have life spans of over a thousand years, although it has declined drastically again since. Even so, some of the wealthiest people in The Republic can still expect to live at least a few hundred years.
