Charin / Epis / Lepiterra / PheiaThe Galaxy contains over 200 billion stars and a trillion planets, and is just one of another five hundred billion other galaxies in the universe.
Human beings have so far only explored a few thousand of the star systems in their own galaxy. There are still an unimaginably vast number of wonders and secrets waiting to be found.
Charin
Epis is the homeworld of The Silver Republic, and its industrial heart. But the moon, Charin, is where the senate and all the wealthiest citizens reside, far away from the choking atmosphere of the planet itself.Charin has no atmosphere. Cities sit inside large craters that have been covered by huge glass and steel domes, within which are all manner of pleasures for those who can afford them.
On the occasion when ambassadors and representatives from other worlds come to visit, they will of course arrive on Charin, and be spared the toxic surface and the sight of all the sickly factory workers down on Epis.
Epis
Epis is the Silver Republic’s homeworld. Most of the surface now is one huge industrial complex, producing Star Engines and other technology that helps ensure The Republics dominance over other worlds.Massive power plants and factories belch columns of smoke into the atmosphere, leaving the planet very polluted. The Republics rulers therefore choose to live on the moon, Charin. The billions who remain on Epis have to work each day in stifling heat emitted by the machines and a choking atmosphere.
Its no surprise then that, faced with such appalling working conditions, the Republic's home world is also one of the crime capitals of the universe, with gangs of thugs battling it out every day for control of a street. Provided the work still gets done the Republics rulers aren't too concerned about any of this; the thugs can even prove useful when other disruptive elements need to be dealt with.
Lepiterra
After the ruin, Lepiterra was left a barren world barely able to support any sort of life. Those who survived here found themselves in a bitter struggle over what meagre resources were left. People lived in tunnels beneath the surface, since exposure to the planet’s atmosphere was deadly. That changed when the survivors discovered the Mother Machines and Crystal Eggs, inside which were pointy eared ELF’s – Engineered Life Forms; technology created during the Gold Age. The ELFs instructed the humans in the use of the Mother Machines; new plant and animal life they created transformed the surface of the planet into a lush, green paradise.
The Institution was created for further research and management of the ELFs, and now with the partnership of the Silver Republic they have branches in almost every city across The Galaxy.
Pheia
Most of Pheia is a cold, damp, snowy little world. It was ruled over by a feudal system of government, until first contact with The Silver Republic prompted massive investment in education, science and technology and an Industrial Revolution. It remains a sovereign planet for now, but the Lords continue pressing for membership in The Republic. It is ruled by a constitutional monarchy; the reigning King or Queen acts as head of state, although the real political power and decision making rests with The Lords. The current King suffers from mental illness and was deemed unfit, and so Caitlyn has become a Princess Regent, assuming the duties of monarchs. Her twin brother, Caelan, whom she beat to the throne by a matter of minutes, is not happy.
