There are as many species that inhabit the Galaxy as there are stars – about five hundred billion. Even at its zenith during The Gold Age, Humanity had only explored a very small fraction of the entire Galaxy.
Thus far, human beings are the only species known to have evolved intelligence. The only other intelligent life forms are humankind’s own creations, the ELFs. ELFs come in a variety of forms, but the word ‘Elf’ is most commonly applied to the pointy eared humanoid variety who exist as humanity’s servants and helpers.
