The most prolific race currently known about in the galaxy is, of course, the Humans. Humans are accompanied by genetically engineered servants, the ELFs, that come in a variety of forms but most are themselves Humanoid in appearance.
Whilst in taverns across the galaxy drunken pilots tell stories of their own encounters with intelligent Alien beings, it seems likely that most of them have simply been on their own in space too long. There has yet to be any confirmed contact with any intelligence that is not man or manmade.
